Abstract
PURPOSE:To drastically decrease the pressure drop of a fluid and to easily form a uniform and thick lining film by passing a gas current through the inside of a gradually contracted pipe to form a spiral flow consisting essentially of a free vortex in the title gas current-type lining method. CONSTITUTION:When a compressed gas is passed from the expanded part of the gradually contracted pipe 3 to the contracted part, a velocity vector in the radial direction is imparted to the fluid in the gradually contracted pipe 3, and the spiral flows consisting essentially of a free vortex is discharged from the opening at the tip. When the flow S is supplied into a pipe 1 to be treated as the lining material carrying gas current, a cone-shaped distribution of the axial velocity in the radial direction of the pipeline is obtained, and the axial velocity in the vicinity of the pipe wall is made remarkably lower than the axial velocity at the center part. As a result, the particles of the lining material in the carrying gas current are allowed to relatively easily collide with the wall surface and deposited, hence a uniform and thick film is formed, and the pressure drop is reduced because the axial velocity in the vicinity of the pipe wall is low.
