PURPOSE:To effectively introduce a mutagen into a cell, by subjecting the mutagen and the cell to cell fusion in a state wherein concanavalin A is contained in liposome. CONSTITUTION:A given buffer solution is incorporated with about 1-5mg/ml phospholipid or glyceroglycolipid and about 1-5mg/ml concanavalin A and a mutagen in a concentration corresponding to a kind thereof and subjected to ultrasonic wave by an ultrasonic oscillator under cooling with an ice bath at about 20-40W for about 1-10min to prepare liposome containing the mutagen and concanavalin A. The liposome and a plant cell of tobacco or tomato or an organism cell of yeast made into protoplast are fused by polyethylene glycol method to introduce the mutagen into the cell.
