Abstract

PURPOSE:To directly fetch data for a fetch instruction in an instruction processing unit when it exists effectively on a store data buffer, by providing a store date selection means. CONSTITUTION:The store data selection means 15, when the fetch instruction is executed by an instruction processing means 11, decides the existence of effective store data 18 corresponding to a fetch address designated by the fetch instruction on a store data buffer means 14 by a store instruction preceding the above instruction. When it exists, no move-in of fetch data 16 for a main memory device 12 is executed, and the effective store data on the store data buffer means 14 is fetched in the instruction processing means 11. In cases other than that, the fetch data 16 is selected. In such a way, a time required for the fetch instruction can be shortened, and a throughput can be improved.
