Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent movement of a pavement slab by a method wherein a light elastic surface layer having an elastic force is formed on a heavy layer through a reinforcing plate to form the pavement slab, the pavement slab is laid on a base through dry mixing mortar to pave an athletic field. CONSTITUTION: A pavement slab 10 integrally consists of an elastic layer 20 being an upper layer, a reinforcing plate 28 being an intermediate layer, and a heavy layer 18 being a lower layer. The heavy layer 18 is formed of a number of rigid granular materials 22, such as silica sand, adhered to each other with gaps therebetween, and the elastic layer 20 is formed of elastic granular materials 24, such as rubber chips. Further, the reinforcing plate 28 is formed of a wire gauze and a porous plate. The pavement slab 10 is laid on the base 10 through a admixture layer 16 where sand and cement are mixed together to perform pavement 12. This constitution prevents lateral movement of the pavement slab 10 due to an athletic sports.
