Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain the title initiator which has a high molecular absorptivity coefficient and a high polymn. activity and exhibits an excellent fast-curing property in the curing of epoxy resins, by using sulfonium salts of a specified formula as an active ingredient. CONSTITUTION:The title product is a cationic photopolymn. initiator contg. sulfonium salts of the formula as shown [where R is (substd.) aryl; X<-> is a Lewis acid residue which is weakly nucleophilic] or their solvent addition product as an active ingredient. This initiator has a high polymn. activity and exhibits an excellent fast-curing property when it is used in, for example, curing epoxy resins.
