Abstract
PURPOSE:To annihilate ticks bred in a mat and to eliminate them by a cleaner or the like by providing a main heater and an auxiliary heater for increasing the temperature of the mat to a specific temperature for a specific period of time. CONSTITUTION:Power supply to an auxiliary heater 7 is gradually increased by a controller 8 to increase the temperature of the mat to 50 deg.C or more at which ticks die, thereby expelling ticks to the central part 4 of the mat 1. Thereafter, power is supplied to a main heater 3 to increase the temperature at the central part 4 of the mat 1 to 50 deg.C or more, and expelled ticks are sucked up by a cleaner or the like to eliminate them. In the case of using the auxiliary heater 7 for killing ticks bred at corner parts 5 and edge parts 6, power supply to the auxiliary heater is rapidly increased, and the temperature at these parts is rapidly increased to 50 deg.C or more at which ticks die.
