Abstract

PURPOSE:To enhance an effect of preventing malfunction by inhibiting a select lever from being switched, when a starter is driven in a condition that the select lever is placed in a position of each P or N range, and releasing this select lever from its switching inhibition following the action of a brake. CONSTITUTION:When a select lever 1 is placed in a position of each N or P range, an engine is started by turning on a starter switch SW3. After the engine is started, when the step-in action of a brake pedal is forgotten, no signal from a brake switch SW2 is input to a control unit 17. Because a signal of the starter switch SW3 is input to an OR gate 18 further a signal of an inhibitor switch SW1 is input to an AND gate 19, a solenoid cylinder 5 is excited by a self-hold circuit 20 holding the signal of the starter switch SW3. As the result, the select lever 1 is fixed to the position of each N or P range.
