Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain the title composition excellent in tone, shade, transparency, heat resistance and light resistance, by mixing a specified methacrylic resin polymer with an anthraquinone dye. CONSTITUTION:A methacrylic resin is reacted with ammonia or a 1-20C prim. amine (e.g., methylamine) at 180-350 deg.C in an inert gas atmosphere in an inert solvent (e.g., toluene) to obtain a methacrylimide resin polymer having at least 5wt.% imide ring structure units of the formula [wherein R<1> is H, a 1-20C (un)substituted alkyl, cycloalkyl, aryl, alkaryl or aryl]. 0.0000001-0.01pt.wt. anthraquinone dye (e.g., Solvent Violet) is added to 100pts.wt. this polymer.
