Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce discharge of combustible gas by controlling a fuel injection valve to start fuel injection after passing an apex seal mounted on each apex of a rotor during low load and start fuel injection just before passing the apex seal when the engine load becomes more than a designated value. CONSTITUTION:A triangular rotor 3 rotatably accomodated in a rotor housing 2 has an apex seal formed at each apex thereof. A fuel injection valve 15 for jetting fuel into three operating chambers 6 formed by the respective sides of the rotor 3 and the inner peripheral surface of the rotor housing 2 in an intake stroke is fixed to a rotor housing. In this case, the fuel injection valve 15 is controlled to start fuel injection after passing each apex seal 4 during low load of an engine and start just before passing each apex seal 4 when the injection starting time is set forward according to an increase in load, until the engine load becomes more than a designated value.
