Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a recharger for recharging a cell continuously even if the cell is used during recharging operation, by continueing recharging operation when terminal voltage drops quickly. CONSTITUTION:Upon detection of voltage drop at an output terminal 102, a voltage drop detecting circuit 15 outputs a detection signal and sets a detection time constant for detecting quicker voltage drop than that with a predetermined time constant. Upon detection of voltage drop of a cell 2, a voltage drop detection circuit 16 outputs a detection signal and sets a detection time constant for detecting quicker voltage drop and not detecting slower voltage drop. Terminal voltage drop of the cell 2 during recharging operation due to change of operating condition of machinery is detected through the voltage drop detecting circuits 15, 16, and thereby recharging operation is not stopped before the cell is fully recharged. Consequently, the cell can be recharged fully even if it is used during recharging operation.
