Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent the deformation of honeycomb part such as the distortion, deflection or the like of the same, by extruding ceramic compound vertically when the ceramic compound is extruded through a molding head to obtain a honeycomb structural body. CONSTITUTION:Ceramic compound is pressurized and kneaded by a screw 9 and one part of the compound enters into an outside flow passage P1 through the holes 8 of a perforated plate 7 while the remaining part of the same enters into an inside flow passage P2 through the gap of a tubular part 11. The compound, entered into the outside flow passage P1, is pushed upwardly and is extruded sequentially so as to form a honeycomb part. On the other hand, the compound, entered into the inside flow passage P2, is extruded so as to form a boss part. When the honeycomb part is extruded upwardly, the inner peripheral surface of the same is pushed against the outer peripheral surface of the boss part, therefore, the distortion, tilting or the like of the honeycomb part may be prevented by the boss part.
