Abstract

PURPOSE:To more quickly confirm a voice recorded on a recording medium by changing practically the time base extension rate of a reproduced voice signal according to a track feeding rate at the time of reproduction. CONSTITUTION:A memory 55 to extend or compress the time base of the voice signal, and a memory controller 53 to control the read and the write and the read address and the write address of the memory 55 according to an instruction from a controller 102, are provided. Then, the voice is recorded in a concentric circle shape on a rotary recording medium 100 by the time base compressing, and when it is reproduced, in case of the ordinary reproduction, in which a track feeding interval at the time of the reproduction exceeds 10sec per track for instance, it is reproduced at the ordinary extension rate, and when the track is fed at 5sec interval from track to track, the controller 102 outputs the instruction to thin and extend it adequately, to the memory controller 53.
