Abstract
PURPOSE:To enhance safety and to reduce cost by performing the cooling of a nuclear reactor at the time of an LDLA(coolant losing accident) without using dynamic machinery, by providing the automatic pressure reducing valve communicating with the emitting valve of pool water and a main steam pipe. CONSTITUTION:A pressure suppressing pool 17 wherein an emitting valve 18 for discharging water is mounted in a housing container 14 is arranged above a pressure container 15. An automatic pressure reducing valve 20 is mounted to the main steam pipe 19 connected to the pressure container 15 to discharge the steam in a nuclear reactor to the pressing pool 17. An inflow piping 23 is arranged to the side part of the pressure container 15 through a check valve 21. The automatic pressure reducing valve 20 is opened by an LOCA signal and the pressure in the pressure container 15 is reduced to about atmospheric pressure within several min. the amount of the water in the pressure container 15 reduces by the breakage of the piping but, when the head of the flooding water in the cavity 16 of the nuclear reactor exceeds that in the pressure container 15, the water in the cavity 16 of the nuclear reactor flows into the pressure container 15 and, since this inflow amount increase as the water level in the pressure container 15 lowers, the excessive lowering of the water level in the pressure container 15 is eliminated.
