Abstract
PURPOSE:To surely and quickly fit an O-ring without removing a cap by pushing out with a collar the O-ring fitted on the outside of a shaft, on which an outside shaft is fixed, after the O-ring is supplied to the outside diameter of the outside shaft by means of connecting the tapered surface of the inside shaft of a fitting jig to the outside shaft to expand it. CONSTITUTION:After an O-ring is supplied to a jig bench 10, a fitting head 20 is lowered to push the tapered surface at the tip of an inside shaft 21 into the inside diameter of the O-ring 3. When it reaches the extreme end, the O-ring 3 extends along the tapered surface to the outside diameter portion through the tapered surface of the outside shaft 22 and then to the bottom end of a collar 23. The arm of the jig bench 10 then opens to its maximum position resisting to a spring 13. The fitting head 20 then elevates to the upper part of a work piece and then lowers to the position where the inside diameter of the outside shaft 22 fits into the work piece. Next, a lever 26 is driven to lower the collar 23 which pushes the O-ring out to be fitted into a groove.
