Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent the exudation of body fluids to the upper surface of a top layer, in the surface sheet of an absorbable article wherein the basis wt. of the whole is 17-40g/m<2> and density is 0.01-0.08g/cm<3> formed by integrally compounding the top layer fiber brought into contact with the skin and a back layer fiber, by making the density of the top layer lower than that of the back layer. CONSTITUTION:The surface sheet of an absorbable article is formed by welding the fibers constituting the top layer brought into contact with the skin of a user and the fibers constituting a back layer to integrally compound both layers and the basis wt. of the whole of the composite top and back layers is set to 17-40g/m<2> and the density thereof is set to 0.01-0.08g/cm<3>. The density of the top layer is made lower than that of the back layer. Pref., the surface sheet is constituted of the top layer fiber having a basis wt. of 8-22g/m<2> brought into contact with the skin and the back layer fiber having a basis wt. of 7-20g/m<2> not brought into contact with the skin. The surface sheet thus obtained has such a characteristic that body fluids are rapidly guided to the back layer without being stagnated in the top layer and diffused even in the back layer by capillary action.
