Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain the subject cord suitable as a cord for carcass and breaker of tire, having excellent adhesiveness to a top rubber and flexural rigidity by twisting three or more metal filaments around a core material composed of an unvulcanized rubber. CONSTITUTION: At least three metal wire filaments (preferably having the surface plated with a brass material containing 60-66 wt.% of Cu) are twisted around a core material (preferably a continuous ribbon body having a circular section or a regular polygon section) composed of an unvulcanized rubber to give the objective cord. Preferably the filaments are obtained by twisting the filaments around the core material in equal circumferential intervals among the filaments.
