Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a copper-containing electroconductive coating composition giving a coating film excellent in initial conductivity, long-term stability of electroconductivity, etc., by mixing a copper powder of a low reduction loss or a copper powder from which a surface oxide layer has been removed with a binder resin for a coating agent and a specified antioxidant. CONSTITUTION:At least one ester (A) of di(glycerol) borate with an 8-84C dicarboxylic acid (e.g., phthalic acid) is reacted with at least one 5-82C tert. amine (B) having at least one hydroxyl group (e.g., diethylhydroxymethylamine) at such a ratio that one nitrogen atom. is present per boron atom. to obtain an oxidizing agent comprising a charge transfer complex (e.g., a compound of the formula, wherein p=30). A copper powder of a reduction loss <=0.2wt.% or a copper powder from which a surface oxide layer has been removed by treatment with an organic carboxylic acid (e.g., citric acid) is mixed with a binder resin for a coating agent and said antioxidant to obtain a copper- containing electroconductive coating composition.
