Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain the titled composition free from cracks, having excellent sinterability and exhibiting superconductivity at or above liquid nitrogen temperature, by adding MnO to a Y-Ba-Cu-O superconducting ceramic. CONSTITUTION:Y2O3, BaCO3 and CuO each having a purity of >=99.9% are mixed with each other at ratios to satisfy the formula (0.5<=x<=0.75mol.; 0<y<1mol.) and the obtained powdery mixture is added and mixed with <=2.5wt.% of MnCO3 in terms of MnO. The mixture is calcined at about 900 deg.C for about 5hr and the resultant calcined product is compression molded and baked at about 950 deg.C for about 10hr in air.
