Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve the quake-preventing effect by attaching slidably a support to a quake preventing device via a screw hole formed at the bottom part of an object to be supported. CONSTITUTION:A quake preventing device 1 has a support 8 which is screwed into a bracket 7 attached to a bottom part 6 of an electronic equipment. The support 8 supports the weight of the equipment and also functions to control the height of the equipment. At the same time, a disk-shaped low-friction member (sliding member) 9 is attached to the lower end of the support 8. A rubber base 10 consists of a flat plate 10b and an elastic part 10c in addition to a mounting part 10a which is put on a floor surface 11. A plate spring 12 is buried into the part 10c. The support 8 is usually set at the center of the base 10 and the member 9 touches slidably a sliding surface part 10b1. If an earthquake occurs, the base 10 quakes horizontally together with the surface 11. The support 8 supporting each equipment, however, slides relatively via the member 9 to attain the quake preventing actions.
