Abstract

PURPOSE: To suppress noise voltage and prevent a lightning arrester from being destroyed, by connecting a spark gap lightning arrester, a filter circuit, and a semiconductor arrester integrally.
CONSTITUTION: When high abnormal voltage comes in, then in case of an only semiconductor lightning arrester A, it is set in an overload state and is destroyed, but if the spark gap lightning arrestor G of great discharge resistance is parallel-connected to the arrester A, current is discharged by the arrestor G and the semiconductor lightning arrester is prevented from being destroyed. However, on the spark gap lightning arrester G, discharge starting is delayed, and so in this short time before the discharge starting, pulse-like high tension is applied to the semiconductor lightning arrester A which could be destroyed. Accordingly, against this pulse-like high tension, a suppressing action is performed by a parallel-connected filter circuit F, and as a result, the semiconductor lightning arrester A is prevented from being destroyed. Low-tension- pulse-like or high-frequency-like noise voltage is suppressed by the filter circuit F, and medium-abnormal voltage is suppressed to limit voltage or less by the semiconductor lightning arrester A.
