Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a thermal recording material having high sensitivity, imparting a recording image reduced in fading or whitening, reduced in heat resistance fog and having excellent chemical resistance, by using a specific compound as a coupler and using 4-methoxycarbonyloctadecylcarbamoylbenzene as a sensitizer. CONSTITUTION:In a thermal recording material utilizing the color forming reaction between a leuco dye and a coupler, a compound represented by general formula (I) (wherein R is hydrogen, an alkyl group, an aryl group or an aralkyl group) is used as the coupler and 4-methoxycarbonyloctadecylcarbamoylbenzene is used as the sensitizer. The compound represented by the general formula (I) is slightly inferior to heat response or the density uniformity of a developed color image alone but the coupler having strong color developing capacity. Since 4-methoxycarbonyloctadecylcarbamoylbenzene has a high m.p. but high sensitizing effect, said compound is the sensitizer having heat resistant preservability. Both compounds are combined to make it possible to obtain the thermal recording material having high sensitivity and imparting an image prevented from being deteriorated by the fading or whitening phenomenon of an image part.
