Abstract
PURPOSE:To hold higher accuracy, and to reduce the transmission loss of an optical fiber, by setting a movement of a loading tool and a holding too, to the movement controlled to only one linear direction by fitting of an uneven shape provided on each external form. CONSTITUTION:The titled device is constituted of a loading tool 3 provided with a linear V-groove 2 for storing an optical fiber 1 in a valley part, and a holding tool 5 by which a tip plane 4 comes into contact with the surface of the stored optical fiber 1, and pressed equally against both wall surfaces A, B of the V-groove 2. Also, a relative movement of the loading tool 3 and the holding tool 5 is controlled to only the fitting direction of uneven shapes 6, 7, by fitting of the uneven shapes 6, 7 provided on each external form. When this optical fiber 1 is in a state that the outside diameter is circumscribed simultaneously to two wall surfaces A, B of the valley part of the V-groove 2 of the loading tool 3, this state is always determined clearly, and positioned with high accuracy at a fixed position. In such a way, the optical fiber is always pressed and fixed with high accuracy at a fixed position, and also, torsion and incomplete holding are not generated at all, and by using this optical fiber at the time of welding connection, the transmission loss of the optical fiber is reduced.
