Abstract
PURPOSE:To reduce an error in A/D conversion without increasing an area or complicating a circuit, by measuring the value of digital output in a period while a clamp signal is set at a level HI, and varying clamp reference potential supplied to a clamping circuit by the value. CONSTITUTION:When the clamp signal goes to the level HI, switches SW109 and SW111 are turned ON, and a switch SW110 is turned OFF, and the output of a buffer amplifier A106 is operated so as to be conformed with the clamp reference voltage 100 impressed on the non-inversion input of an OP-AMP108. At this time, a reference voltage which offsets -(V10108 +V10113) is selected, and it is supplied to the non-inversion input of the OP-AMP108 as the clamp reference voltage 100. Therefore, no conversion error is generated even when the OP-AMP108 or a comparator group 113 is provided with a large offset voltage. Accordingly, it is possible to make the area or the increase of the number of elements to obtain a relative accuracy required to realize a low offset in an on-going device, or the complexity of the circuit unnecessary.
