Abstract
PURPOSE:To contrive lowering of contact resistance without deterioration of the workability when the title capacitor is formed by contacting a conductive film to the active carbon fiber in which a separator is interposed. CONSTITUTION:An electric double-layer capacitor is composed of a metal case 3, in which active carbon fibers 1 are arranged facing each other through the intermediary of an electrolyte-impregnated separator 2, and a metal cover 4 and the like. On one surface of these fibers 1, conductive resin films 6 and 7 are contacted and a capacitor element is formed. As a result, the formation of an aluminum layer, by conducting a plasma flame-spray coating to increase a current collecting property, and the coating and the like of a carbon coating material are unnecessitated. The deterioration in workability when the title capacitor is manufactured can be prevented, the lowering of contact resistance can be achieved, and the life of the capacitor can also be prolonged.
