Abstract

PURPOSE:To keep off any overheat in an oxidized catalyzer by installing an intake duct at the outside of an oxidized catalytic case in an exhaust system, and leading intake air into an intake system through the intake duct at the time of increment of an unburnt component in the exhaust gas. CONSTITUTION:An intake duct 19 is installed at the outside of a oxidized catalyzer 18 installed in an exhaust pipe 17. This intake duct 19 is connected to an air cleaner 13 via a selector valve 20. And, when an unburnt component in the exhaust gas is increased, the selector valve 20 is selected, and intake air is led into the air cleaner 13 from the intake duct 19. With this constitution, the oxidized catalyzer 18 is cooled and its overheat is thus prevented from occurring.
