Abstract

PURPOSE:To largely improve printing speed by forming a heat transfer printing ribbon of a transfer layer and a resistive base layer, and incorporating conductive carbon black and phenoxy resin in the base layer. CONSTITUTION:Conductive carbon black is dispersed in phenoxy resin as a sheet-like resistive base layer, and a transfer layer is provided on one side face of the base layer. If the thickness of the base layer is less than 2mum, its mechanical strength, such as tensile strength is not sufficient, and if it exceeds 30mum, it might be broken by bending, and it is set to 2-30mum. The carbon black of the base layer is preferably 15-50wt.%, and phenoxy resin is preferably 10wt.% or more. If the carbon black is less than 15wt.%, the specific resistance of the resistance layer becomes high, and if it exceeds 50wt.%, it becomes brittle. If the phenoxy resin is less than 10wt.%, its flexibility at ambient temperature and tensile strength at the tire of heating is not sufficient. The resin is of phenoxy resin which is crosslinked by isocyanate.
