Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain an implantable catheter having good operability and not generating the pull-off of a tube after implantation, by using a fixing means formed of a shape memory alloy as a fixing means for fixing the connection pipe of a reservoir to the tube. CONSTITUTION:A fixing means 4 is passed through the tube 3 of a stayed catheter and, subsequently, the tube 3 having the fixing means 4 inserted therein is inserted in the connection pipe 9 of a reservoir 2 up to the base part thereof. Then, the fixing means 4 is moved to the position exceeding the engaging part 17 of the connection pipe 9 and heated between the base part of the connection pipe 9 and the engaging part 17 to strongly connect the tube 3 to the connection pipe 9. The fixing means 4 is formed of a shape memory alloy, pref., a unidirectional shape memory alloy not returning to the original deformed shape during body implantation, for example, an Ni-Ti alloy and, from the aspect of capacity and cost, the Ni-Ti alloy is most pref.
