Abstract

PURPOSE:To transmit speech and data simultaneously over one channel and to improve usability by providing a means which varies the transmission ratio of a speech signal and data to be transmitted and received relatively, with reference to a speech data composing and separating circuit. CONSTITUTION:The programs of a CPU 50 and a memory 60 operate a D channel control circuit 40 when receiving a request to communicate from a telephone set 70 or input/output part 80 to set a telephone call with an opposite calling party. Then a B channel control circuit 30 is put in operation to exchange speech and data through a B channel. The data and speech from the memory 60 and telephone set 70 are sent to a speech data composing and separating circuit 31 through transmitting and receiving circuits 32 and 33. The circuit 31 puts the speech and data together according to the transmission ratio set on a panel 90 and the composite signal is converted by an S/P converting circuit 20 into a serial signal, which is sent out to an ISDN 10. A received signal from the ISDN 10 is converted by the circuit into a parallel signal, which is separated by the circuit 31 at the same ratio and passed through the circuits 32 and 33, so that data is sent to the memory 60 and a speech signal is sent to the telephone set 70 respectively.
