Abstract
PURPOSE:To provide inexpensive formation of a semiconductor porcelain which is low in its resistance and has a good resistance temperature characteristic, by making a thickness of each element five or more times as large as an average particle diameter of the semiconductor porcelain. CONSTITUTION:A semiconductor porcelain is composed of semiconductor porcelain elements (PTC elements) 1a to 1f laminated with internal electrodes 5... in between. The internal electrodes 5... are drawn alternately right and left, and they are connected with external electrodes 6, 6 on either right or left side. The semiconductor porcelain elements 1a to 1f are made of planar semiconductor ceramics whose chief ingredient is barium titanate. The internal electrodes 5... are manufactured by performing injection of a single substance of a low-melting-point base metal or its alloy. The semiconductor porcelain elements 1a to 1f are bonders of many particles 11..., and a thickness of each element is defined to be five or more times as large as an average particle diameter.
