Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a polymer concrete causing small stress deformation during molding or in undergoing heat history, excellent thermal shock resistance, heat cycle fatigue resistance and dimensional stability, by blending an aggregate having a specific coefficient of thermal expansion with a water-insoluble polymer in a specific ratio. CONSTITUTION:(A) 20-90pts.wt., preferably 40-85pts.wt. aggregate (e.g. lithium aluminosilicate or aluminum titanate) having 0.5X10<-6>/ deg.C coefficient of thermal expansion is blended with (B) 10-80pts.wt., preferably 15-60pts.wt. water- insoluble polymer (e.g. epoxy polymer or silicone polymer).
