Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce the width of a focusing electromagnet by providing a yoke which is lacked in the yoke part between the magnetic poles adjacent to each other in a circumferential direction and is thereby formed to a C shape. CONSTITUTION:The yoke 12 is lacked in the yoke part 12a between the magnetic poles N and S adjacent to each other in the circumferential direction and is thereby formed to the C shape as a whole. The interference with the lacked focusing electromagnet 11 is averted by providing the lacked yoke part 12a toward the focusing electromagnets 11 in proximity thereto. The width W of the focusing electromagnet 11 is, therefore, reduced to the size much smaller than heretofore.
