Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain an origin detection signal which has small variation caused by disturbance by forming a reluctance element of two detecting elements having >=2 current paths, and processing their output signals by addition and subtraction and performing waveform shaping. CONSTITUTION:When a recording medium 10 moves right, the origin recording signal 20 passes positions opposite detecting elements Ra, Rb, Rc, and Rd in this order. The signals Va and Vb are supplied to a differential amplifier 26 to calculate Va-Vb. Here, the mutual interval Da between the detecting element in each couple and the deviation Dc between the two couples of detecting elements have relation Da>Dc, and the difference between Da and Dc is set small, so the outputs Va and Vb of the detecting elements are nearly 180 deg. out of phase with each other. The amplitude of Va-Vd is double as large as the amplitudes of the signals Va and Vb. A signal of this Va-Vb is compared by a comparator 27 with a reference signal Vrfa to obtain an origin signal which is expanded double in amplitude.
