Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce the time required for closing of equipments and retrieval of a fault by transferring malfunction information of an outgoing sender of a sender side exchange system detected by a register in an incoming exchange system immediately to the sender side exchange system so as to allow a sender station to detect the fault. CONSTITUTION:If a fault takes place in the outgoing sender 4 of the sender side exchange system 1 and the sender mulfunctions, transfer information is recognized as the reception of a fault signal by a register 9 of the incoming side exchange system 6 and the fault content is reported to a central processing unit 7. The central processing unit 7 outputs fault information to an output device 8 to inform it to the maintenance personnel and controls an incoming trunk 10 to return a line signal such as a wink signal to an outgoing trunk 5 as a fault detection signal. The central processing unit 2 of the sender side exchange system 1 detects the wink signal or the like, then discriminates it as a fault of signal transfer immediately to stop the signal transmission from the outgoing sender 4 and outputs a signal with information required for the fault analysis such as the device number of the outgoing sender 4 and the outgoing trunk 5 in use at the same time to the output device 3 thereby reporting the occurrence of fault to the maintenance personnel.

BACKGROUND ART Conventionally, when connecting relay calls between offices in a telephone switching system, an outgoing sender device is installed at the originating station and a register device is installed at the terminating station to transfer the information necessary for the connection. Even if a malfunction occurs in the transmitter equipment installed at the transmitting station, the transmitting station cannot detect it.
Based on the notification from the receiving station, the faulty outgoing sender device was searched for and repaired.

``Problems to be Solved by the Invention'' In the conventional two-way system, even if the sending station's outgoing sender device malfunctions due to a fault, the sending station cannot recognize the fault, and the receiving station's register device prevents the error from occurring. Signal reception failures occur frequently, and maintenance personnel are unable to recognize the failure until they report the failure to the transmitting station, and even after notification, it takes a considerable amount of time to identify the faulty output sender device. For this reason, the outgoing sender device is identified after the fault occurs, and all calls that were connected using the faulty outgoing sender device for a considerable period of time before the blockage are disconnected.
This has disadvantages in that it degrades the service of the telephone exchange system and requires a great deal of effort to search for faults.

Means for Solving the Problems In order to achieve the above object, the outgoing sender device failure detection method according to the present invention immediately transfers the failure state detected by the register device installed at the destination station to the originating station. This makes fault recognition at the transmitting station 4 functions, notifies the maintenance person of the faulty output sender device during use, and automatically shuts it down if necessary. It is possible to prevent service degradation due to delays and reduce the effort required to search for failures.

In this figure, reference number 1 is the originating switching system and 6 is the terminating switching system. Each exchange system 1.6 is equipped with an output device 3.8 which interfaces with a central processing unit 2.7 and performs the necessary exchange control as well as outputs fault information. Information transfer for relaying the call from the originating switching system 1 to the terminating switching system 6 is performed by the outgoing trunk device 5 and the human trunk device! 0 from the output sender device 4 in a predetermined signal format, and is received by the register device 9.

At this time, the outgoing sender device 4 in the outgoing exchange system 1
If a failure occurs and a malfunction occurs, the transfer information is recognized as an erroneous signal reception by the register device 9 in the receiving side switching system 6, and the details of the failure are reported to the central processing unit 7. The central processing unit 7 outputs the fault information to the output device 8 and notifies the maintenance person, and also controls the large trunk device 10 to send a line signal such as a wink signal back to the outgoing trunk device 5 as a fault detection signal. When the central processing unit 2 in the calling system 1 detects this returned wink signal, etc., it immediately determines that there is a signal transfer failure, stops the signal sending from the sending sender device 4, and resumes the conversation according to a predetermined procedure. Perform a reconnection operation by sending a medium tone or using another device. At the same time, the central processing unit 2 adds the respective device numbers of the outgoing sender device 4 and the outgoing trunk device 5 that were being used at this time and the ti information necessary for failure analysis and outputs them to the output device 3, and sends them to the maintenance personnel. The occurrence is reported and, if necessary, the relevant outgoing sender device 4 is blocked to prevent the occurrence of subsequent disconnected calls.
