Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a facsimile equipment not requiring any troublesome job in reading a thick original such as a book even when originals of cut paper sheets are read consecutively by separating an original read section from a facsimile equipment main body. CONSTITUTION:In case of the original of cut paper sheets, an operator sets the original 13 on the facsimile equipment main body 19 and a sending original read section 31 reads the original 13. In case of local read of the original, the read section 31 is removed from the main body 19 and contacts the original 13, is moved in the sub scanning direction to apply reading. In case of the original such as a book, a guide 20 is placed on the book 23 and the read section 31 is placed thereupon. Then the section 31 is moved in the subscanning direction along the guide 20 to read the original. Even if the cut paper original sheets are read continuously and a thick original such as a book is read, no troublesome job is required.
