When cutting the extra length ends of these electric wires, a cutter is pressed against the cutting portion of the electric wires located on the housing.
However, in the conventional connector structure, when cutting, the cutter pulls the electric wire press-fitted into the electrical terminal, and the insulating coating material of the electric wire stretches, making it impossible to reliably cut at the desired position. In addition, when two wires are press-fitted in the height direction of an electrical terminal, the insulation coating of the lower wire acts as a buffer, so the extra length of the upper wire slides laterally and Since it cannot be cut, it is necessary to manually pull it further.

The device is characterized in that it includes a comb-tooth-shaped side wall with a plurality of grooves, and the bottom of each of the plurality of grooves is higher than the surface of the insulating casing.

別に拘らず同様に実施できる。 First, a conventional pressure-contact type connector will be explained with reference to FIGS. 1 and 2. A plurality of electrical terminals 2, 3, and 4 having slit-shaped wire attachment grooves are implanted in an insulating housing 1. , electric wires 5 are press-fitted into the grooves of these electric terminals. When cutting the extra length end 5a of the electric wire 5, the cutter 6 is brought into contact with the cutting position a of the electric wire 5 arranged on the housing 1. However, the electric wire 5 which is not completely positioned and fixed cannot be reliably cut at the desired position due to the elastic insulation coating. Next, an embodiment of the press-contact type connector according to this invention will be described with reference to FIGS. 3 and 4. The pressure contact type connector according to this embodiment has an electrical terminal 8,
A side wall 11 having a comb-tooth shape is provided opposite to 9 and 10. This side wall has a plurality of grooves 12 formed at a predetermined pitch in the longitudinal direction. These grooves are formed at positions spaced apart from the upper surface of the housing 7 by a dimension b, and have a width smaller than the outer diameter dimension of the electric wire 13 to be held. When cutting the extra length end 13a of the wire 13 press-welded to this connector, the cutter 6 is placed on the side wall 11 because the position led out from the side wall 11 of the housing 7 corresponds to the cutting position a' of the extra length end 13a of the wire. lower along. At this time, the cutter 6 can move down within the dimension b from the lower end of the groove 12 of the side wall 11 holding the electric wire 13 to the upper surface of the housing 7, and the electric wire 13 is held in pressure contact with the side wall 11 to prevent positional displacement. It is reliably cut at the desired position without causing any damage. In addition, the external force applied to the electric wire 13 due to this cutting is applied to the electric terminal 8,
9 and 10 can be prevented by the side wall 11. Note that the side wall 11 can be implemented in the same manner regardless of whether it is integrated with the housing 7 or separately.

できる。 As explained above, according to the present invention, by providing a comb-shaped side wall facing the electrical terminal and having a plurality of grooves for holding the extra length of the electrical wire, the number of electrical wires to be press-connected to the electrical terminal can be reduced. Regardless of the situation, the excess length of the wire can be reliably cut at the desired cutting position.
