Abstract

PURPOSE:To suppress electron beams' impacts on an output window so as to improve reliability, by interposing a circular waveguide bend between the collector part and the output window part so that the output window part is not viewed from the electron beam generation part in an electron gun structure. CONSTITUTION:Between the collector part 16 comprising a circular waveguide and the output window part 17, a circular waveguide bend 20 with a definite cross-sectional shape is interposed in a united body composition. The waveguide bend 20 is positioned and bent in such a size and shape that a ceramic plate in the output window part 17 is not directly viewed from an electron beam generation part in an electron gun structure 11, and is positioned deviating from an electron-beam axis, that is, a main tube axis passing through a resonance cavity 14. Thus, almost no electron beams' impacts on the output window part 17 occurs. Therefore, high reliability in operation can be obtained.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION A gyrotron is a microwave electron tube that utilizes the well-known interaction between an electron beam and a high-frequency circuit electric field in a Zyron humming condition. Therefore, it has the advantage of being able to use a single method of electron beam and high frequency circuit to a large extent, and the efficiency is relatively high. Conventional - A commonly known rotary rotor has a configuration as schematically shown in FIG. 2. In the figure, reference numeral 11 is an electron gun assembly that generates a hollow electron beam, 12 is an electron gun coil, 13 is a high frequency circuit, 14 is a resonance cavity thereof, 15 is a main coil, 16 is a collector section, 1
7 is an output window, 18 is an output horn waveguide part, and 19 is a Kiren cell coil. Further, symbol C schematically represents an electron beam.

(Problems to be Solved by the Invention) A gyrotron having such a structure has an output window arranged axially symmetrically so that the electron beam can be directly seen through. Therefore, most of the electron beam is transmitted to the collector section "C"
Even if it is captured, it is unavoidable that the J3 section will collide with the output window. The electron beam that collides with the output window may damage the ceramic plate that passes through the window material. To solve this problem, there is a configuration in which the output window is electrically insulated from the collector section and a negative potential is applied to it.

There is also a proposal (as disclosed in Japanese Patent Laid-Open No. 594'19648) to place an electromagnetic coil outside the collector section and apply a magnetic field perpendicular to the axis to bend the electrons and trap them in the collector section. .

However, in the former case, a sufficient effect cannot be obtained unless the potential of the output window section is set to a considerably low level, and a highly reliable electrical insulation structure between the collector section and the output window section is required. - In the latter case, an extra electromagnetic coil and its power source are required, and the inflow of electrons into the collector portion becomes asymmetrical, resulting in temperature imbalance.

[Structure of the Invention] (Means for Solving the Problems) The present invention provides a circular guide between a collector section made of a circular waveguide and an output window section so that the output window cannot be seen from the electron gun assembly. This is a gyrotron that uses a wave tube bend.

(Function) In this invention, the ceramic dielectric output window is bent so that it cannot be seen from the electron gun assembly and is offset from the beam axis. I rarely receive it. Therefore, highly reliable operation can be obtained.

As shown in FIG. 1, a circular waveguide bend 20 having the same cross-sectional shape is interposed between a collector section made of a circular waveguide and an output window section, and is continuously integrally constructed. This waveguide bend 20 is located at a position where the ceramic plate of the output window 17 cannot be directly seen from the electron beam generating part of the electron gun assembly 11, and at a position sufficiently shifted from the electron beam axis, that is, the main tube axis passing through the resonant cavity 14. It is bent into a size and shape that gives it.

[Effects of the Invention] As explained above, according to the present invention, the output window is bent so that it cannot be seen from the electron gun assembly and is offset from the beam axis. There is almost no shock caused by the electron beam. Also, there is no need for an extra magnetic field device or power supply to apply an orthogonal magnetic field, and highly reliable operation can be obtained.
