Typically, as the ink ribbon exits the supply spool, passes through guide rollers and in front of the print head, the printing action causes some of the ink on the ink ribbon to be transferred to the print sheet. After the printing operation is completed, the ink ribbon is wound onto a take-up spool via a guide roller. By the way, plastic molded products are generally used for the supply spool, guide roller, and take-up spool because of their ease of processing and low cost. Therefore, when the ink ribbon is transported, static electricity is generated due to friction between the ink ribbon and the plastic molded product, and the ink ribbon is charged with static electricity and may attract fine dust floating in the air. Therefore, it was thought that this would have an adverse effect on the transfer of the ink on the ink ribbon to the printing paper, resulting in a decrease in printing quality. Further, static electricity may cause irregular winding of the ink ribbon when it is wound onto a take-up spool, or may cause transport abnormalities such as when the ink ribbon comes off the guide roller.

As shown in the figure, when the ink ribbon 4 comes out of the supply spool 1, passes through the guide roller 2, and passes in front of the print head 3, part of the ink on the ink ribbon 4 is transferred to the print paper 5 due to the printing operation. Ru. After the printing operation is completed, the ink ribbon is wound onto a take-up spool 7 via a guide roller 6. Here, the ink ribbon 4 that has come out of the supply spool 1 is guided by guide rollers 2 and 6 on the front surface of the print head 3, and is wound onto a take-up spool 7. It is made of rubber. Further, the support shafts 8 and 9 that rotatably support the guide rollers 2 and 6 are made of a metal material, and are fixed to a metal carriage 10 that is electrically conductive and has excellent mechanical strength. Furthermore,
The guide shaft 11, which holds the carriage 10 slidably in a linear direction, is also made of a conductive metal material, and is held at both ends by metal shears (not shown). With such a configuration, static electricity existing on the ink ribbon 4 is removed from the guide rollers 2, 6, the support shaft 8,
9, is grounded via the carriage 10 and guide shaft 11. Therefore, most of the static electricity on the ink ribbon 4 is removed, and deterioration in printing quality due to dust adhesion to the ink ribbon 4 and irregular winding of the ink ribbon 4 when being wound can be prevented.

The guide rollers 2 and 6 may be made of metal, but conductive rubber can be manufactured more cheaply. Further, in the embodiment, the guide rollers 2 and 6 are made conductive, but the supply and take-up spools 1 and 7 may be made of conductive material, and the shafts 12 and 13 may be made of metal shafts to remove static electricity. good.
