Conventionally, O-rings, cup-shaped sealing materials, square rings, etc. made of elastic materials such as rubber and soft plastics have been known as sealing materials. O-rings and cup sealing materials have a problem of high manufacturing costs because only one sealing material can be manufactured for each cavity of a product mold. On the other hand, a large number of square rings can be manufactured by forming a square ring into a cylindrical shape and cutting the ring in a direction perpendicular to the axis, thereby reducing the manufacturing cost. However, since the seal portion of the square ring is a face seal, there are problems in that the sliding resistance is large and the sealing force is weak.

That is, the sealing member of the present invention includes a base body having a circular groove having a substantially V-shaped cross section on the circular outer peripheral surface, and a corner having a square cross section formed of an elastic material such as rubber or soft plastic that is fitted into the circular groove. The square ring is obtained by cutting a cylindrical molded body in a direction perpendicular to the axial direction, and is configured such that one ridgeline of the square ring forms a line seal with respect to the object to be sealed. It is characterized by:

Alternatively, it has an elliptical ring shape, and its cross section is rectangular, such as a square or a rectangle. This square ring is usually made by producing a cylindrical material (molded body) by extrusion molding, molding, etc., and then cutting it into rings in a direction perpendicular to the axial direction to obtain a square ring with a square ring cross section.

しても良い。 The square ring according to the present invention is inserted into this circular groove having a substantially V-shaped cross section, and deforms due to the elastic deformation of the square ring itself, and becomes the outermost periphery of the diamond-shaped cross section.
The two ridge lines are configured to form a line seal against the object to be sealed. That is, in the square ring inserted into the circular groove having a V-shaped cross section in the base body, two of the four side circumferential surfaces adjacent to each other are in contact with two slopes of the V-shaped circular groove. The remaining two side peripheral surfaces of the square ring protrude from the circular groove of the base, and a circular ring having a triangular cross section is formed on the circular outer peripheral surface of the base. The ridge line corresponding to the apex of this triangular cross section abuts against the cylindrical inner circumferential surface of the object to be sealed, which forms the sealing surface, thereby achieving a line seal. In addition, due to the circular groove of this base body having a V-shaped cross section, the square ring is elastically deformed and rotates in the same direction by a certain angle, preferably 30 degrees to 60 degrees, around the central axis of its rectangular cross section, resulting in a diamond-shaped cross section. becomes. Therefore, the circular groove having a V-shaped cross section on the circular outer peripheral surface of the base body has the role of making the cross section of the square ring rhombic. Note that the V-shaped surface does not necessarily have to be exactly V-shaped, but may be approximately V-shaped. Further, in order to achieve a sealing effect between the base body and the square ring, a projection may be formed on a part of the V-shaped surface as shown in FIG. 5, or a flat surface may be formed on the bottom of the V-shaped surface as shown in FIG. 3.
本発明のシール部材は以上の構成により成る。 The sealing member of the present invention has the above configuration.

Therefore, the sealing member of the present invention uses an inexpensive square ring and has a line seal structure instead of a face seal similar to that of a coupling material, thereby improving the sealing effect.

This sealing member is composed of a square ring 1 having a substantially square cross section, whose longitudinal cross-sectional view is shown in FIG. 2, and a base body 2 having a V-shaped groove 21 on its circular outer peripheral surface. This square ring 1 is rotated approximately 45 degrees around the central axis of the square cross section in the direction shown by the arrow in FIG. 2, and is fitted into the groove 21 of the base body 2 in this state. The square ring 1 is fixed in the circular groove 21 by its own elastic force. This square ring 1
The seal portion is formed at the upper outer peripheral ridge line 1a of the four ridge lines. This sealing member has a portion centered around the ridgeline 1a in contact with a cylinder surface forming a sealing surface of the object to be sealed. Therefore, the seal portion becomes a linear seal and the sealing effect is enhanced.

In this modification, the bottom 21a' of the V-shaped groove 21' of the base body 2' is made flat, and the ridge line 1b' of the square ring 1 is brought into contact with the flat bottom 21a'. This improves the sealing performance between the base body 2' and the square ring 1'.

This sealing member is composed of a square ring 3 with a rectangular cross section and a base body 4 having a V-shaped groove 41 with an oblique cross section. By using the square ring 3 having a rectangular cross section, the contact area with the circular groove 41 is increased, and the holding force of the square ring 3 by the circular groove 41 is further increased. Moreover, the sealing member of this example is also the same as that of Example 1.
Similar to the seal member, this is a linear seal and has a high sealing effect.
