PURPOSE:To decrease the distortion of a projected picture even if a picture on a liquid crystal panel is projected with a tilt direction with respect to a screen by providing a picture display panel displaying a picture according to a video signal and a light emission source and making the light incident while the center of the light through the picture display panel is deviated with respect to the center axis of the projecting lens. CONSTITUTION:The light from the light source 1 is transmitted through a condenser lens group 2 and projected to a liquid crystal color display panel 3 controlled by a video signal and on which a picture is displayed from the rear face. Then the lower image of an image A on the liquid crystal color display panel 3 reaches the screen 5 through a focus B of a projecting lens 4 and an optical path D.
