待されている。そして、斯る方式に用いられる垂
直型磁気ヘツドとしては、第1図に示すように補
助磁極に励磁コイルを巻装した補助磁極励磁型が
提案されている。即ち、1は磁性薄膜(例えば、
パーマロイ薄膜)からなる主磁極で、その先端が
記録媒体2(例えば、高周波スパツタ法により形
成されたCp−Cr薄膜で、面に垂直な方向に磁化容
易軸を有する)に対向して配されている。3は記
録媒体2を挟んで配された補助磁極(例えばフエ
ライト等の高透磁率磁性材からなる)で該補助磁
極3に巻装した励磁コイル4に信号電流を流して
前記主磁極1を補助磁極3側から励磁するように

を行うようにしている。また再生時には、記録媒
体2により主磁極1が励磁され、これによつて更
に補助磁極3が励磁されて励磁コイル4の両端に
出力信号が得られる。そして、第2図は斯る垂直
型磁気ヘツドを用いた垂直磁気記録再生方式の磁
気デイスク装置の従来例である。即ち、5は面に
垂直な方向に磁化容易軸を有する磁気デイスク、
6は前記磁気デイスク5を回転駆動するモータ
ー、7,7′は前記磁気デイスク5をモーター6
の回転軸6′に固定するための固定具であり、前
記磁気デイスク5の記録再生領域外である中央部
を挟持固定するようになつている。そして、励磁
コイル4を施した補助磁極3と主磁極1を磁気デ
イスク5を挟んで対向させた構成となつており、
この場合補助磁極3と主磁極1は一定の間隔を保
持して矢印A,A′にて示すように磁気デイスク
の半径方向に同時にトラツキングさせる必要があ

り成り、記録時に前記主磁極のみを磁気デイスク
の半径方向にトラツキングさせると共に、該主磁
極の位置するトラツクのみを励磁し垂直磁気記録
を行なうように構成したので、そのトラツキング
機構が簡潔になると共に操作性の向上も計ること
が出来る。また、本考案に依れば主磁極に励磁コ
イルを巻装する主磁極励磁型にしているので、斯
る主磁極を磁気デイスクの半径方向にトラツキン
グさせた際この主磁極の位置するトラツクのみを
励磁し記録することが出来、記録効率の極めて高
い磁気デイスク装置を提供することが出来る。
