Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide a compact humidifier incorporating a natural evaporating humidi fier element having a substantially improved humidifying capability by a method wherein water is fed into a hollow structure of humidifying element formed by winding in a spiral form a hollow structure made by porous sheet of hydrophobic high molecule capable of preventing passage of water and passing water vapor through a corrugated partition plate, and then air is blown into the hollow structure. CONSTITUTION:Starting at an upper part within a cylindrical casing 11 a cylindrical water tank 2, an air feeding port 10 arranged at an upper portion of the casing, a cylindrical humidifying element 1, a heating heater 5, a fan 6, a filter 8 and a suction port 9 arranged at a lower portion of the casing are provided. A belt-like hollow structure 12 is formed by a porous sheet of hydrophobic high molecule preventing passage of water but capable of passing water vapor. The humidifying element 1 is formed in a cylindrical form by winding the hollow structure 12 in a spiral form through corrugated partition plates 13, and some air stream clearances 13a are formed between the corrugated partition plates 13 and the hollow structure 12. Air is blown into the clearances 13a formed between the partition plates 13 and the hollow structure 12 to humidify the air while supplying water into the hollow structure 12.

In order to improve the performance of a humidifier, this invention proposes a hollow structure formed of a porous sheet of hydrophobic polymer that can prevent the passage of water and allow the passage of water vapor in a spiral shape through corrugated spacers. The humidifying element is configured to supply air to the hollow structure of the humidifying element formed by rolling the humidifier while supplying water to the hollow structure.
