Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent the curving of a recording character by making the same the arriving times of the leading ends of wire pins at paper, by arranging a large number of the recording elements of a recording head in an almost circu lar acr form so that the respective end surfaces are positioned at an almost equal distance from the peripheral surface of a platen roller. CONSTITUTION:In a wire dot head WH, a head leading end guide part 21 is formed into a circular arc shape so that all of the distances between recording paper 1 and the leading ends of seven wires 7 become same and the wires 7 are arranged so as to follow said guide part 21. Now, by exciting a coil 5 through a head driver (3-2) according to a printing pattern by the printing order from a controller, an armature 6 is attracted to a core 4 to allow the wires 7 to impact against the paper 1. Since all of the wires 7 are arranged so that the distances between the wires 7 and the paper are made same, the arriving times of the leading ends of the wires at the recording paper 1 are same and, as a result, the printing delay due to wire pin arranging positions is not generated and high printing grade can be secured.

Various types of serial printers, such as an ink jet type, a thermal type, and a wire dot type, have been put into practical use as serial printers as print output devices for computers and word processors. Among these, wire dot methods, etc. in which the printing paper and print head are not in close contact,
Conventionally, as shown in FIG. 2, the print head tip 7 and the platen 16 were not parallel to each other. To wind up the pick paper, a round platen 16 was used as a platen, and the printing paper was closely pressed against the round platen. On the other hand, the wire tips of the print head were aligned in the vertical direction K (paper feeding direction) - a straight line, K, on the same plane. Therefore, the spacing between the wire bins of the print head and the paper is such that the center wire bin is closest to the print paper, and gradually moves farther apart toward the top and bottom bins. Note that 11 is an ink ribbon. On the other hand, in the printing wire drive circuit section, as shown in FIG.
K will be sent to you. This latch data is outputted by a print pulse (P, P) synchronized with the sub-scanning timing of the print head, and by driving the wire pins, vertical row printing is performed. However, as mentioned above, in the case of the 7-pin in this example, the distance between the printing paper and the tip of the pin is widening from the 1st pin to the 7th pin with the 4th pin as the center, so the print head can be attached at high speed. In high-speed printing in which printing is performed while moving in the scanning direction, if an attempt is made to print, for example, an English letter, the letter I will be curved as shown in FIG. 4, and the printing quality will be significantly degraded.
