Abstract

PURPOSE:To read both front and back surfaces of an original only by setting the original once by turning over the original when one surface is read completely and then sending the original to a read part again. CONSTITUTION:This read mechanism is equipped with an inverting means (U-turn guide 17) which has a rotatable support point 01 and turns over and sends out an original 6 through a sending roller (2nd roller 14B) after completion of reading, a 1st switching means (1st switching guide 16A) which has a rotatable support point 02 and guides the read original 6 to the U-turn guide 17 then guide an original 6 send out of the U-turn guide 17 to the original read part 1 again, and a 2nd switching means (2nd switching guide 16B) which has a rotatable support point 03 and guides the original to a storage part (storage guide 8) after it is turned over and read. Consequently, when the original is set once, both surfaces of the original are readable.
