Abstract

PURPOSE:To check a jumping characteristic inherent in a spent wire as well as to make it densely accumulable in coil, by rotating and driving a wire recovery box, and making the spent wire delivered to the inside of this box so as to be drawn thereinto. CONSTITUTION:A wire electrode 24 going out of a machining area come to a spent wire 24a and, after passing through a lower guide 22, it receives a delivery action by a discharge mechanism 36 at the front stage of a recovery box 38 by way of a wire carry-out passage 34, and accumulated in this recovery box 38 for recovery. Here, the wire 24a run past the carry-out passage 34 is wetted at the machining area, therefore water is removed in a cover 34a of the carry-out passage 34, and this water flows on a lower surface, where the cover 34a is inclined, collected in a water receiver 35. And, the wire 24a is held between a driving roller 36a and a presser roller 36b and delivered to the recovery box 38. Next, when the recovery box 38 is rotated in a direction A by a motor 50, the wire 24b reached to the recovery box 38 is drawn in rotation of a bottom 38, whereby its jumping characteristic is checked, and it is wound an accumulated in the same direction as the direction A in close vicinity to the inside of a side wall of the recovery box 38.

However, especially in the latter method described above, that is, the method of depositing and collecting used wires in a collection box, it is desirable to continuously collect as much wire as possible in the box, and for this purpose, the collection box is not vibrated. However, the larger the wire diameter is, the more the wire that has passed through the processing area under a certain tension has a tendency to bounce up even in the collection box. Therefore, it is difficult to deposit them densely, and the collection rate relative to the volume of the collection box naturally decreases, which is inconvenient. Therefore, the present invention aims to eliminate such inconveniences.

In FIG. 3, the wire-cut electric discharge machine has a machine stand 10, and a column 1 is erected upward from the right end of this machine stand 10.
It has an arm 14 that projects horizontally to the left from the top end of 2. An upper head 16 is provided at the left end of the arm 14, and an upper guide 18 is provided at the lower end of the upper head 6. Further, above the machine stand 10, a U-shaped or L-shaped workpiece stand 20 is provided so as to be movable in two orthogonal axes in a horizontal plane as is well known, and a workpiece made of a conductive material (not shown) is placed thereon. It is configured to be installed on this workpiece stand 20. Also,
A lower guide 22 is provided in the internal space of the workpiece table 20 so as to vertically oppose the upper guide 18, corresponding to the lower position of the workpiece. These upper and lower guides 1
8 and 20 are equipped with precision guides such as jewel guides in order to accurately position the wire electrode 24 at the processing position with respect to the workpiece, and are also equipped with processing fluid spray nozzles, etc., although not shown in detail in FIG. are doing. Generally, a feeder (not shown) is provided near the lower guide 220 to supply electrical discharge machining voltage to the wire electrode 24, and on the other hand, electrical discharge machining is performed between the workpiece and the workpiece electrically connected to the machining power source. It is meant to be done. Note that the wire electrode 24 is transferred from an electrode supply reel 26 to a guide roller 28, a brake roller 30,
It reaches the upper guide 18 via the positioning roller 32, etc., and then travels toward the lower guide 22 via the electrical discharge machining area facing the workpiece. The wire electrode 24 that has left the processing area becomes a used wire 24a, and after passing through the lower guide 22, the used wire 24a is sent out via a wire delivery path 34 at the front stage of a collection box 38, where it is sent out by a discharge mechanism 36. Accordingly, they are deposited in a collection box 38 and collected. The used wire 24a passing through the wire discharge path 34 is wet with water in the electrical discharge machining area, and this water is removed, for example, in the cover 342 of the wire discharge path 34, and the cover 3
A method is adopted in which the water flows down the slanted lower surface of the water container 4a and is collected in the water receiver 35. The used wire 24 from which water has been removed in this way
a is held between a drive roller 36a and a presser roller 3.6b and sent to a collection box 38.

Referring to FIGS. 1 and 2, the cylindrical collection box 38 is mounted on a box holder 42 with a vertical shaft 44 rotatably supported by a bearing 46 held on a horizontal base 40. It is placed. The collection box 38 is fixed by appropriate means (for example, a bottle) so that it can rotate together with the box holder 42 in the circumferential direction.

As shown in FIG. 2, the driving roller 36a and the pressing roller 36b are arranged at positions offset from the center of the cylindrical collection box 38 toward the cylindrical side wall.
The used wire 24a sent out by the holding roller 36a and the holding roller 36b is deposited from the periphery of the collection box 38. Here, when the collection box 38 is rotationally driven in the direction of arrow A in FIG. Its rebounding property is prevented, and it is wound and deposited near the inside of the side wall of the collection box 38 in the same direction as arrow A.

Sending out the used wire 24a near the side wall of the cylindrical collection box 38 allows the wire to be drawn in more effectively and deposited without bouncing up because the rotation speed near the side wall is higher than in the center. It is from. Furthermore, instead of rotating the collection box 38 in only one direction as in the above embodiment, it is also possible to appropriately swing and rotate the collection box 38 under the control of the controller 58.

As is clear from the above description, according to the present invention, since the wire collection box is rotated, the used wire is pulled in by the rotation and prevented from jumping up, thereby tightly winding it inside the collection box. It is possible to increase the collection rate of used wires based on the box volume of the collection box. This in turn contributes to increasing work efficiency and saving floor space.
