Description

【発明の詳細な説明】 〔産業上の利用分野〕 この発明は、誦強度でかつ破断伸びが大きい繊維強化樹
脂製棒状体に関する。
〔従来技術とその問題点〕
繊維強化樹脂成形品、いわゆるFRPは、比強度が高い
、耐食性に優れる、成形性がよく形状の自由度が嶋いな
どの特長を有し、種々の構造材料等に広く1史用さ扛て
いる。
ところで、第y図はFRPと鋼との応力−歪曲@(S−
8曲線)を示すグラフであるが、このグラフからもわか
るように、FRPは塑性変形がほとんどなく、延性に極
めて低く、いわゆる強いが粘がないことがわかる。一方
、鋼は塑性変形が大きく、強くかつ粘り強いことがわか
る。
よって、FRPにおいても“粘り強さ”を付与できれば
、鋼等の金桟材料と同様の破壊挙動を示し、金属材料の
代替品としてより−1−の用途が広がることになる。
〔発明の目的〕
この発明は、上述の映望を満たすFRPの一つとしての
繊維強化樹脂製棒状体を提供することを目的とするもの
で、補強繊維の一部または全部に、連続繊維を多数本撚
り合せた撚紐状連続繊維を用いることにより適度の破断
伸びを持たせるようにしたものである。
〔実施例〕
第1図は、この発明の繊維強化樹脂製棒状体の第tの例
を示すもので、図中符号lはこの棒状体の補強繊維の一
方をなす直線連続繊維である。この直線連続繊維lは、
ガラス繊維、カーボン繊維、ホウ素繊維、セラミック繊
維、金属繊維、ビニロン繊維、ナイロン繊維、ポリニス
デル繊維、アラミド繊維などの繊維の長繊維をtO〜2
00本合糸したストランドをさらにg〜fコθ本東ねた
ロービングまたはトウが用いら扛る。繊維としては上記
種々の繊維を単独もしくは2I41!以上適宜組合せて
1史用することができる。こnらの繊維はマトリックス
樹脂に応じてシラン処理、ボラン処理などの表面処理を
施しておくこともできる。
また、図中符号2は、棒状体の補強繊維の他方をなす撚
紐状連続繊維である。この撚紐状連続2は、直線連続繊
維lを構成するロービングまたはトウと同種もしくは異
種のロービングまたはトウをさらに複数本撚り合わせて
なるものである。撚り合せは同心撚、果合撚、複合撚の
いずrでもよく、またその他の撚り合せ方法でもよい。
さらに、図中符号8はマトリックスとなる合成樹脂であ
る。この合成樹脂8としては、特に限定さnず、エポキ
シ樹脂、不能オ0ポリエステル樹脂、ポリウレタン樹脂
、ジアリルフタレート樹脂、フェノール樹脂などの熱硬
化性樹脂やポリアセタール樹脂、飽和ポリエステル樹脂
、ポリアミド樹脂、ポリスチロール樹脂、ポリカーボネ
イト樹脂、塩化ビニル樹脂、ポリエチレン樹脂、ポリプ
ロビレ・ン樹脂、アクリル樹脂などの熱可塑性樹脂が棒
状体の用途等に応じて適宜選択さnる。
そして、上記1直線連続繊維lと撚紐状連続繊維2とは
、いず扛も当然のことなから棒状体の長手方向に配向さ
扛ており、この例にあっては多くの1a線連続繊維l・
・・と多くの撚紐状連続繊維2・・・とが第f図のよう
に特別の規則性なしにランダムに配置さ扛ている。また
、こ扛らの直線連続繊維l・・・および撚紐状連続繊維
2・・・は、合成樹脂8中に若干の引張応力が加わった
状態で埋め込ま扛ている。
棒状体中の補強繊維の割合(Vf)は20〜70体噴%
の範囲とさnl 20体積%未満では十分な補強効果が
得られず、70体積%を越えるものは製造が困難でめる
。また、補強繊維中の直線連続繊維lと撚紐状連続繊維
2との割合は、撚紐状連続繊維2が少なくなnは破断伸
びが得ら扛なくなるので、撚紐状連続繊維275(20
〜100体槓%の範囲とさ扛、好ましくはTO−90体
積%の範囲とさnる。
また、直線連続繊維l・・・および撚紐状連続41#!
維2・・・は、棒状体中では直線状に配置さnてもよく
、あるいは直線連続繊維l・・・および撚紐状連続繊維
2・・・がそnぞn別々にもしくは相互に撚り合されて
長手方向に配置さ扛ていてもよい。撚合の場合には、同
様に同心撚、集合撚、複合撚などが採用さrる。
このような構造の棒状体を得るには、例えば所定本数の
直線連続繊維l・・・と撚紐状連続繊維2・・・とをそ
れぞ扛送り出し、これらを未硬化液状のエポキシ樹脂等
が満された樹脂含浸槽に連続して送り込み、ここで樹脂
含浸する。ついで、樹脂含浸さ扛た繊維群を束ねて円筒
状の引抜^金型に通し、樹脂を硬化させることにより、
連続的に腿尺の棒状体を製造することができる。この際
、前述のように直線連続繊維l・・・および撚紐状連続
繊維2・・・とに所定の長手方向の張力がかかった状態
で樹脂を硬化させる必要があるので、直線連続繊維1・
・・および撚紐状連続繊維2・・・は所定のパックテン
ションがかけら扛た状態で金型に送り込ま扛る。
〔作用〕
このような棒状体にあっては、直線連続繊維lが第2図
中11)のような応カー歪挙動を示し、撚紐状連続繊維
2が第2図中1)のような応カー歪挙動を示すことから
、第2図中1)に示すような金属材料に似た弾性率が高
く、破断伸びの大きな破暖挙動を示すようになり、金属
材料と同様の構造設計が可能となる。
特に補強繊維としてカーボン繊維などの高弾性繊維を選
び、その配合It (Vf ’)  を60〜りO体積
%程度にした棒状体は、棒鋼に似た弾性率、破断強匿、
破断伸び等を示すようになる。よって、これを例えば鉄
筋コンクリート用鉄筋として使用することも可能であり
、従来の棒鋼製鉄筋にはない@量性、耐食性、非磁性等
の特性を有するものが得られる。
〔他の実施例〕
第3図はこの発明の繊維強化樹脂製棒状体の第2の例を
示すもので、第1図に示すものと同一構成部分には同一
符号を付してその説明を省略する。
この例の棒状体は、多数の直線連続繊維l・・・が中心
部に集中して配置さ牡、その外側にとnら直線連続繊維
l・・・を囲むように撚紐状連続繊維2・・・が配侍さ
nてなるものである。
また、第9図はこの発明の棒状体の第3の例を示すもの
で、この例では撚紐状連続繊維2・・・が中心部に配さ
れ、その外側に直線連続繊維l・・・が置か牡だもので
ある。
これらの構造のものでも、若干の破壊挙動に差が生ずる
ものの同様の作用効果を得ることができる。
なお、棒状体の外径、長さなどは適宜用途に応じたもの
とすることができる。
〔発明の効果〕
以上説明したように、この発明の繊維強化樹脂製棒状体
は、補強繊維の一部または全部を連続繊維を撚って形成
した撚紐1状連続繊維としたもので、1すあるので、高
弾性率、高破断強反を有するとともに適度の破断伸びを
有するものとなり、その破壊挙動が鋼等の金端材料に似
たものとなり、広い用途に使用できるようになる。
特に、補強繊維にカーボン繊維などの高弾性繊維を用い
、その含有率を60〜70体積%とし、撚紐1状連続繊
維の割合をiθ〜qO体積%程度としたものでは、棒鋼
に近い機械的特性を有するものになり、よってこれを例
えば鉄筋コンクリート用鉄筋として使用することが可能
となり、at性、耐食性、非磁性といったlf4製鉄筋
にはない新しい特性を持った鉄筋が得られることになる

例を示す概略断面図、第2図は直線連続繊維、撚紐1状
連続繊維およびとnらを複合したものの応力−歪曲線を
示すグラフ、第j図は−およびFRPの応力−歪曲線を
示すグラフである。 l・・・・・・iM線連続繊維、2・・・・・・撚紐状
連続繊維、8・・・・・・合成樹脂。

  1. 【特許請求の範囲】 補強繊維と合成樹脂とからなる繊維強化樹脂製棒状体に
    おいて、 補強繊維の一部または全部が連続繊維を撚つて形成した
    撚紐状連続繊維であることを特徴とする繊維強化樹脂製
    棒状体。
