Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve operability by inserting the guide pins of an adapter molding part into the guide pin insertion holes of optical connector plug molding parts and thus coupling the contact surfaces of the facing optical connector plug molding parts at the hole part of the adapter. CONSTITUTION:When optical connector plugs are coupled mutually, the guide pins 7 of the adapter molding part 6 are inserted into the guide pin holes of the plug molding parts 3 and then the contact surfaces of the plug molding parts 3 contact each other in the contact guide hole 8. For the purpose, l<2l, where lc, is the projection length of the contact surfaces 5 and la is the length of the contact guide holes 8 of the adapter molding part 6. Further, the plug molding part 3a and adapter molding part 6 are so designed that the pitch of the guide pin holes 4 is equal to the pitch of the guide pins 7 of the adapter molding part 6.

Since two independent guide pins are used, each guide pin must be inserted into the guide pin hole of the plug molding part one by one before being connected, which is time-consuming.

■When connecting, it is necessary to prepare a separate guide pin, but guide pins are usually small in diameter, about 0.5 to 1.0.1φ, and length is less than 1 G, so it is difficult to use such small guide pins. Handling optical connectors at the site where they are actually used is likely to result in loss and difficulty in terms of workability.

■When inserting the guide pin into the guide pin hole of the plug molded body, because the guide pin is held with fingers 11, the fingers may hit the contact surface of the plug molded body and damage the polished end face of the optical fiber. There is a risk of getting dust on the surface, so careful work is required, resulting in difficult work.

(Means for Solving the Problems) The present invention solves the above-mentioned problems and provides an optical connector with excellent connection/detachability. An optical connector plug molded body having an end face with a protruding contact surface into which a fiber is inserted, and an adapter molded part in which a guide pin is positioned and fixed to the resin molded part and receives the contact surface of the optical connector plug molded body. This is because the contact surfaces of the opposing optical connector plug molding parts are connected at the hole part of the adapter by inserting the guide pin hole of the optical connector plug molding part into the guide pin of the adapter molding part. .

When such a plug molded part and an adapter molded part are combined using a matching agent and the plug molded parts on both sides are fixed under pressure by nozzing, the average bonding loss is 0.1 at n=50.
It was good, with a maximum of 8 dB and a maximum of 0.45 dB. 100
The connection 11 loss variation in the rotation test is ±0. It is within IdB, and the result of the 1000-time standoff test is also ±0.2d.
It was confirmed that the variation was within B, and there was no problem in practical use. Furthermore, even in a one-cycle test at -30°C M+70°C, the loss variation was as good as 0.2 dB or less. In the experiment, the hole for the guide pin was set to a depth of about 4 mm, but there is no problem even if this part is made into a through hole.
