Optical cable-attached overhead lines are installed by extending and installing an overhead line between steel towers, then extending the optical cable along the overhead line and tightening or wrapping it around the overhead line with a spiral preform rod. . When installing an overhead line, the overhead line is compressed and connected using a connecting sleeve, but since the optical cable takes a detour at the connecting sleeve of the overhead line, the optical cable is subjected to large bends and vibrations cause damage to the connecting sleeve. It had the disadvantage that it was mechanically weak and easily damaged by being slammed against it.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION An object of the present invention is to provide a method for installing an optical cable attached to an overhead line, which allows the optical cable to be attached to the connecting sleeve portion of the overhead line without damaging the optical cable.

To describe an embodiment of the invention in detail with reference to the drawings, FIG. 1 schematically shows the method of the invention, in which an overhead line 10, such as an overhead ground wire or an overhead transmission line, is compressed and connected with a connecting sleeve 12. While steel towers 14, 14'...
The line will be extended and erected. The optical cable 16 is then extended along the overhead line 10 and tightened to the overhead line 10 by a helical preform rod 18.

The connecting sleeve 12 initially has a cylindrical shape with tapered ends at both ends as shown in FIGS. 2A and B, but as shown in FIG. The overhead line 10 is connected by compressing it into a polygon. In this case, one of the compression dies 20 has a projection 20a which forms a longitudinally extending groove 12a. When the optical cable 16 is extended along the overhead line 10, it engages in the groove 12a without bypassing the connection sleeve 12 at the connection sleeve 12 (fourth
(see Figure 5). In this way, the optical cable 16 is accommodated within the connection sleeve without being subjected to large bends and without being struck against the connection sleeve by vibrations outside the connection sleeve.

In the above embodiment, the optical cable 16 is connected to the overhead line 1.
The optical cable 16 was extended along the overhead line 1 and tightened by the preform rod 18.
In this case, the connecting sleeve 12 forms a spiral groove when compressed, and the optical cable 16 is inserted into the spiral groove.

According to the present invention, as described above, the optical cable is stored without bypassing the connection sleeve so that the optical cable is not damaged due to large bending or vibration, and the groove for storing the optical cable is formed in the connection sleeve. Since the grooves are formed during compression, the cables can be easily accommodated without the grooves being crushed during compression, unlike when grooves are formed in advance.
