Abstract

PURPOSE:To automatically reshape and clean a buff, by placing the buff, in rotation, to approach a dressing tool and stopping the approaching action, when an electric motor rotating the buff generates an electric load current to agree with the predetermined value, simultaneously performing dressing work for a predetermined time. CONSTITUTION:If a dressing device is placed coming to the predetermined position of a buffing unit, a buff table advances in a quick feed speed from a stop position P0, before dressing work, to a position P1 simultaneously stops moving the vertical direction position of a buff to the neutral point. Next, the buff table advances in a slow feed speed from the point P1, and if an external diameter part of the buff 7 is brought into contact with a dressing tool 6, an electric current value of a buff motor gradually increases, soon if the load current value agrees with a preset level, the buff table stops in a stop position P2. The buff 7 immediately starts oscillation in a direction of a-b, and after a predetermined time, the buff table, both rapidly retracting to a position P3 and stopping also the oscillation, finishes the dressing work. Accordingly, the contact position P2 generates almost no change even if an external diameter of the buff 7 gradually decreases.

However, since the body of a wristwatch case part has a complicated shape and the finishing quality required is higher than that of the case back, no suitable device has been provided. Various types of buffs are used in buffing work, but since the work being processed has a complex shape, the initial shape may gradually collapse and become deformed, or abrasives and abrasive powder may condense on the surface of the buff. Polishing ability decreases, making it difficult to maintain uniform polishing quality. In such cases, dressing work is required, and in most cases the dresser is held manually and brought into contact with the buff to shape and clean the buff surface.

In the present invention, a dressing device is disposed on a conveying plate that moves on a conveying table, and a dressing tool that can be freely rotated by the contact pressure of a buff is attached to the shaft portion of the dressing device.
When the rotating buff approaches and contacts the dressing tool with its oscillation operation stopped, the load current value of the motor that rotates the buff is compared with a preset current value, and when they match. The buff approaching operation is stopped, and at the same time, oscillation is applied to the buff to perform dressing work for a predetermined period of time.

First, a buff motor (not shown) is used to rotate the buff 7.
Turn on the power. A large starting current momentarily flows through the motor, but it quickly stabilizes to a constant no-load current value. After this, a current sensor (not shown) is electrically turned on. Next, turn on the cycle start switch. Therefore, the conveyance plate 2 moves by one pitch. When a sensor (not shown) detects that the dressing device has come to a predetermined position of the buffing device, the buffing table (not shown) is brought to a stop position P before the dressing operation. At the same time, the buff moves to a neutral point in the vertical direction and stops. Next 2
From the 1st point, the robot continues to move forward until a stop signal is input. Eventually, when the outer diameter of the buff 7 comes into contact with the dressing tool 6, the current value of the buff motor gradually increases, and when it matches the value set as the load current value through an electrical comparison circuit, a buff table stop signal is output and the buff table stops. stops at stop position P2. The buff 7 immediately starts oscillating in the direction of arrow a-b by a buff oscillation device (not shown). At the same time, a timer is activated, and when the set predetermined time has elapsed, an output signal is issued from the timer and the buff table rapidly retreats and stops at 23 points. Note that the oscillation operation is also stopped and the series of dressing operations is completed. The amount of retreat from point 22 to point 21 is set so that point Pa and point 23 match.

Although the outer diameter of the buff 7 gradually decreases due to dressing work and polishing work pressure, the contact position P2 with the dressing tool 6 hardly changes as described above. The position of the point is automatically corrected in the forward direction. Furthermore, by appropriately setting the distance between P2.25, the length of time required for the buff 7 to move forward does not increase when the buff diameter changes.

As is clear from the above description, according to the present invention, shaping and cleaning of the buff can be automated. Also, if you keep the load current set value constant, you can always obtain a stable dressing condition.Depending on the condition of the buffing surface, you can lengthen or shorten the dressing interval or change the load current set value or dressing time set value to adjust the situation. It is possible to provide the best conditions that match.
