イスプレイ装置、２は表示制御部、３はコード変

置、７−１と７−２は打鍵をそれぞれ示す。打鍵
入力装置６にて外字を入力するに際して打鍵７−
１と７−２を組合せて登録信号と登録解除信号を
出力する打鍵（例えば登録の場合Ａと１、解除の
場合Ａと０）を決定しておく、勿論登録及び解除
打鍵を別に付設しても同一である。打鍵７−１の
中で比較的使用瀕度の少い打鍵を外字に変更する
として説明する。外字入力するには先ず登録信号
を発生する打鍵Ａ，０を押下し続いて外字に変更
する打鍵７−１の例えば、所要打鍵＃を押下し外
字コード表に基づいた外字コードを打鍵７−１及
び７−２を用いて押下する。打鍵入力装置６より
出力された上記信号群は文字デイスプレイ装置１
のコード変換部３に入力される。コード変換部３
は受信信号中に登録信号があると登録部４に打鍵
７−１の＃コードと外字コードを格納させその格
納内容を表示制御部２に送出する。表示制御部２
は内蔵する図示しない文字発生装置の各コードに
対応する文字を表示管５の表示面例えば右上隅に
