Conventionally, convection rods for vehicles have typically been formed by forging into a solid body with a concave center. and,
This automotive cooking stove has a two-part structure, the main body and the cap.In rare cases, it is so-called an assembled type, in which holes are cut at the large and small ends of the forged cooking stove body. There is also a structure in which the parts are integrated and assembled into a split crank pin part. This type of assembly-type connecting rod is especially used for light vehicles and small cars, but even if either the connecting rod or the crankshaft is separated, the weight of one of the parts will inevitably increase. As a result, the actual situation is that sufficient effects have not been achieved as a measure to reduce the weight of cooking stoves. In other words, in the conventional prefabricated conrod mentioned above, by integrating the conrod itself, the conrod itself becomes lighter; however, the weight of the crank part increases due to the reinforcement of the divided parts; When combining an integrated crank and a split connecting rod,
This creates a contradiction in that the weight of the connecting rod increases due to the reinforcement of the bolt section.

are formed by pressing a metal plate such as a steel plate, and have small end portions 2a, 3a and large end portions 2b, 3b. Small end 2 of left conrod main body 2
A and the large end 2b are punched to form a hole 2c for inserting the piston pin and a hole 2d for inserting the crankshaft pin.
The peripheral portions c and 2d are burred to form cylindrical burred portions 2c' and 2d'.

Reference numerals 4 and 5 indicate bearing pipe materials, respectively. The bearing pipe material 4 is fitted into the holes 2c and 3c to rotatably support a piston pin (not shown), and the bearing pipe material 5 is fitted into the holes 2d and 3c.
d to rotatably support a crankshaft pin (not shown). Here, annular protrusions 4a, 5a are formed in the center portions of the circumferential surfaces of the bearing pipe materials 4, 5, and the annular protrusions 4a, 5a of the bearing pipe materials 4, 5 are formed into burring parts 2c', They fit into the holes 2c, 3c and 2d, 3d, respectively, so as to be sandwiched between the holes 3c', 2d', and 3d' (see FIGS. 2a and 2b). In this state, part A is spot welded, part B is partially circumferentially welded, and part C is further partially welded. As a result, the left and right connecting rod main bodies 2 and 3 and the bearing pipe members 4 and 5 are integrated with each other.

Further, the oil passage is formed by forming a groove 6 by coining or the like in an appropriate process, press-fitting the metal pipe 7 into the groove 6, and spot-welding it. Although only the oil passages at the large ends 2b and 3b are shown in the figure, it goes without saying that they can also be formed in the same manner at the small ends 2a and 3a. Here, burying the metal pipe 7 can be omitted.

As explained above, the sheet metal connecting rod for vehicles of the present invention is extremely lightweight because there is no thick walled part for reinforcing the bolt part that existed in conventional prefabricated connecting rods. Since it can be manufactured, it has the effect of being excellent in mass productivity. Furthermore, since the number of parts is small, manufacturing costs are extremely low, and the use of high-tensile steel plates provides the effect of providing sufficient strength. Also,
Since the small and large ends of the left and right connecting rod main bodies are formed by burring, the rigidity of the large and small ends is strengthened, and an annular protrusion is formed in the center of the circumferential surface of the bearing pipe material. The annular protrusion is sandwiched between the burring parts and the bearing pipe material is integrated with the connecting rod body, so it can be assembled by simple machining without applying high temperatures. In addition, since it is integrally welded, it has excellent vibration characteristics, and at the same time, it is extremely easy to process the oil passage.
